Pesce has been on restricted obligation till further notice pending investigation results as he faces costs for 5 traffic offenses.

Officials said his automobile precipitated property damage in the area of Bruin Drive and Terrapin Lane about 10:30 p.m. He was charged with drunk driving, leaving the scene of an accident involving property injury, failing to report an accident, reckless driving and careless driving.

Pesce disputes that he had been driving, saying “Nobody was driving.”

He was promoted to chief in 2018, after 20 years with Bordentown police, following the resignation of disgraced former Bordentown Police Chief Frank Nucera.
