Speaking in the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I don't plan on coming out for the anthem going forward till I really feel better about the path of our country."

"I am not okay with the state of this country. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I may have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that whenever you're dissatisfied along with your country, you let it's identified by protest. The home of the brave should encourage this."
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger action towards gun violence in the US.Kerr refused to speak about basketball forward of Sport 4 of the Warriors' sequence against the Dallas Mavericks, as an alternative elevating his voice as he railed towards gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's shooting.
"Within the final 10 days, we have had elderly Black people killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've got youngsters murdered in school," Kerr informed reporters in the beginning of the press conference.
"When are we going to do something? I am drained. I am so uninterested in getting up here and providing condolences to the devastated families which might be out there ... I'm tired of the moments of silence. Sufficient."
