Uvalde police, faculty district now not cooperating with Texas probe of shooting: Sources

The Uvalde Police Division and the Uvalde Unbiased College District police force are now not cooperating with the Texas Department of Public Security's investigation into the bloodbath at Robb Elementary Faculty and the state's evaluate of the regulation enforcement response, a number of law enforcement sources tell ABC News.

The Uvalde police chief and a spokesperson for the Uvalde Unbiased School District didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from ABC Information.

In response to sources, the choice to cease cooperating occurred quickly after the director of DPS, Col. Steven McCraw, held a news conference Friday during which he stated the delayed police entry into the classroom was "the fallacious resolution" and contrary to protocol.

Reached by ABC Information, a spokesperson for the Texas Division of Public Safety said, "The Uvalde Police Division and Uvalde CISD Police have been cooperating with investigators. The chief of the Uvalde CISD Police supplied an initial interview but has not responded to a request for a follow-up interview with the Texas Rangers that was made two days ago."

Last Tuesday's attack, one of many worst college shootings in U.S. historical past, left 19 youngsters and two adults useless.
